Wolk Picks RoadRunners To Play Juniors

Aug 12, 2022

Porter Wolk from Hurst, TX has chosen the Texas RoadRunners as his Junior team for 2022-2023.  The 19 year old played four games last season for the Texas Jr Brahmas in the NA3HL as well as 44 games between the Brahmas 18U program NAPHL and Birdville HS.   In 48 games last season  Wolk had 35 goals and 12 assists.  The 5’11 165lb forward will play a big role with the Runners this season.  “Porter skated with us late last season and sat with myself and his dad to discuss the program in depth.  I liked what I saw with Porter on ice and see him as more of a perimeter player that can put the puck in the net.  He sees the ice well and came highly recommended by a friend of mine that worked with Porter in the past.”  stated Coach Mike Beavis

Wolk had the opportunity to begin school this year as he had a few offers academically that he could have pursued but ultimately decided to take a year off and see if he can combine his hockey dreams with College in the future.  “The kid is smart to say the least.  Hopefully he has a great year and gets some legit college offers to play as well as finding a school that can meet his educational needs.  The room just got a bit smarter!” joked Beavis

As we wind down the new additions over the next couple days the Runners are also excited about their returners that all have one thing on their minds… “The Fraser Cup”  It will be an exciting season to say the very least.
