Billet families are the heart and soul of our program. The Texas Roadrunners have been in College Station for eight seasons now and we are in need of expanding our billet (Host) families. Each season players 16-20 years old come from around the world to pursue their dreams of playing higher levels of hockey. The Roadrunners play out of the “Spirit Ice Arena” in College Station. These players move away from home with hopes of developing their skills and earning opportunities to play at the college level in the future.
Since the Roadrunners were formed and led by Head Coach and GM. Mike Beavis, the program has sent (2) players onto the NAHL, (17) onto ACHA and (9) onto NCAA. None of these players would have had this opportunity if it wasn’t for our Billet families.
Billet families are our players parents away from home. They supply a safe living environment with a bed and meals and become a large part of the players family. The players will become family… Many players and their parents actually forming life long bonds with their billets. Players will help out around the house and abide by house rules as well as team rules. Billets will receive a monthly stipend to off-set fees involved with helping. They will also receive season tickets (2-3 each home game). The team also hosts a billet appreciation night during the season to give thanks to our Heart and Soul.
Please consider helping these player’s with a place to live and a safe environment to help reach their dreams. You will make a very big impression on a young adult’s life that can help them in so many ways.
Thank-you for your consideration in helping our program continue to strive!
Please reach out to me for more information on how you can become involved and join our family.
