The Roadrunners hold onto first place as they enjoy a quick Thanksgiving break

Nov 21, 2023

The Texas RoadRunners have held onto first place in the south division pretty much from the get go.  The team currently holds a record of 14-4-3 with 31 points to lead the south division of the NA3HL and also hold the third spot overall in the league.

This past weekend in Atlanta the RoadRunners battled the Capitals and each of the three contests were decided in OT.  The team grabbed 4 of 6 points on the weekend but lost two of the three OT games.  This marks four straight overtime games in the six game series that the two teams have met and could be a very interesting playoff matchup if the two teams make the playoffs and faceoff against each other in the post season. “Crazy that we have gone to OT in for of the six games this season and all the games were won by a one goal margin in every game of the entire series.  We matchup well but we just couldn’t get the outcome we needed this weekend.  We had some help from the Drillers as they took two of three from New Mexico to keep us in first.  It’s not going to get any easier and the guys need to step it up over the next six games for sure.”  stated Head Coach Mike Beavis

The Runners are enjoying the Thanksgiving week off before preparing for the Texas Brahmas as they will come to College Station on December 1-3.  This will be the first time this season the two teams will meet and the winners of this series could head to the NA3HL Blaine showcase holding the top spot.  The top teams in the NA3HL South division are currently the RoadRunners, New Mexico and the Brahmas followed by Louisiana and the Capitals tied for the 4th spot..
