The Texas RoadRunners are proud to introduce this seasons Captains.  Derek Boutin, Tyler Love and Jack Herron will all serve as the leaders for the Runners this season.

Tyler Love the soon to be 20 year old from San Ramon, CA. has been a huge addition to the Runners over the past season as he ranks 3rd in single season scoring with the franchise. Tallying 26 goals and 28 assists for 54 points in 47 games with a +19 plus / minus rating in his rookie season.  “Tyler is just a true goal scorer, he has a college level shot and a work ethic that is just incredible.” States Beavis.  Love was named Rookie of the year in the South Division and first team all star as well as attended the NA3HL Top Prospect tournament in February.

Jack Herron also quickly approaching his 20th birthday will act as the teams Captain this season,  Herron, from Lake in the Hills, IL (Now residing in the Dallas, TX area) will bring some great leadership qualities to the Runners that coach Beavis saw over his rookie season. “Jack has the ability and characteristics to be a great leader and we are really excited to have him back with us this season.” States Beavis  Herron was drafted by the Odessa Jackalopes NAHL this off season and is still looking for opportunity with the parent club in the near future but at the present time he is focused on his team and their hunt for the Fraser Cup.  “Jack was drafted by Odessa and we are still hoping that he is taken by them at some point this season but he was still my obvious choice of being our captain.” added Beavis.  Herron in his rookie season with the Runners added 21 goals and 21 assists in 39 games with a plus minus rating of +26 .

The Runners are in the midst of this seasons training camp and Coach Beavis is liking what he has seen so far.  “The guys shed some rust on day one and are now beginning to adjust to things especially for our rookies.  There will be plenty of line juggling and seeing where guys will fit within our line-up.  We have some exciting new players to add to our large returning group and this season the biggest advantage we will have is our depth.” States Beavis.
