Solid Start for Runners

Oct 22, 2021

The Texas Roadrunners have jumped out to their best start in franchise history compiling a record of 8-0-1 in the first nine games of the 21-22 season and sit on top of the NA3HL South Division.  “It’s early in the season and we still have a ton of work to do but we definitely like what we are seeing so far.  We have a coachable and hard working group this season and just need to focus on the small details and habits that will allow us to become even stronger.” states Head Coach Mike Beavis

Beavis went onto say that they had to find a way to carry the flow of the game and make opponents keep up to them VS his team settling into games and playing to the opponents level of play. “It’s a hard thing for guys to be consistent at times but is one of the most important things in sports to accomplish.  Opponents are always chasing top teams and if the top team cannot continue to raise the ceiling they will eventually get caught.” added Beavis  This seasons squad seems to be driven and all have the same goal in mind.  Worry about today and we will take care of tomorrow when it gets here.

The team ran a sort of second training camp last week before getting back on track with systems this week and will focus on their game plan for next weekends match-up VS The Austin IceBats over the upcoming days.

The Runners are off again this weekend before traveling to Austin next week to take on the IceBats in a three game set at the Chaparral Ice- The Crossover beginning next Friday at 7:30PM CDT.  Be sure to catch all the action live in Austin or on HockeyTv.com
