Runners Wilderman and Garver to see action with Odessa Jackalopes NAHL

Jan 17, 2020

RoadRunners Captain Garrett Wilderman and Goaltender Cole Garver have been called up by the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL.  Both players will be in uniform this weekend for the Jacks in Topeka.

Wilderman the 2001 forward has been a force with the Runners this season and in 36 games has 19 goals and 17 assists and is an even plus minus on the season.  “Garrett is a very good player with a great work ethic.  For a rookie he has surely established himself as a future NAHL player and has earned this opportunity.”  States Runners coach Mike Beavis.

Garver will be in his second stint up with the parent club this season and in 17 games with the Runners holds a 4-8-2 record with a .892 SV%.   “Cole works hard and is developing into a good goaltender at the junior level and could be ready to make the jump to the NAHL as a permanent fixture next season.” States coach Ryan Scheide.

Both players have joined the Jackalopes this week and will be in the line-up this weekend in Topeka.  “We got the call from Odessa mid day on Wednesday from Jacks coach Adam Phillips that they wanted both Wilderman and Garver for this weekend.” added Beavis

Both Wilderman and Garver will remain in Odessa next week as well and potentially see more action going forward for the parent club.

Meanwhile the Runners enter the weekend two points out of the last playoff spot in the South division and are looking to advance into the post season as they take on the Louisiana Drillers at the “Spirit Ice Arena” in Bryan College Station this Friday and Saturday evening.  Puck drop for both games is set for 6:15 PM CST.  Be sure to catch all the action live or tune into hockeytv.com
