Runners Tender EDP’s Cowles

The Texas RoadRunners are excited to have tendered (EDP) Lightning Elite Development program’s defenseman Dillon Cowles.  The 17 year old 6′ – 165 lb Cowles from Tampa, FL will play a big part for the Runners defense this season.

“Dillon is coming to us and was highly recommended by EDP coach and former NHL player Adam Hall.  When I spoke with Adam about Dillon I was told he had a very good skill set and was a great skater that makes smart decisions on the ice.” states Runners Coach Mike Beavis.

Cowles will be a part of a very young defensive corps this season with the Runners and they feel that he could be a player that may catch the eye of the parent club in Odessa as the season moves along.

When asked about his commitment to the Runners Cowles replied,” Coach Mike Beavis runs a team based on player development and teamwork that wants to compete and win.  I am excited for this opportunity because this philosophy was the best fit for my continued development.”  Cowles also went on to say that his immediate goals were to work on his skills as a defenseman and earn a spot on an NAHL team keeping the College level of play on his horizon.

Over the next several weeks the RoadRunners will introduce several new additions to the program beginning with their tendered and drafted players and ending with the returning group of veterans from last season.
