Runners Herron Drafted by Odessa

Jun 16, 2022

RoadRunners forward Jack Herron was selected by the Odessa Jackalopes as the 128th pick in yesterdays NAHL draft.  Herron the 2002 birthyear player from Dallas TX appeared in 39 games last season and posted 21 goals and 21 assists and was a +26 on the season.

Yesterday’s NAHL draft included a very large amount of older players by several teams which tends to be uncommon in recent history.

“Jack was a huge part of our team last season.  He sees the ice very well and has a great work ethic.  He was the guy you wanted on the ice in every key situation.  He was one of the best PK guys I have had in years and should do well at the NAHL level.  We had a few college guys interested in him last season but they wanted him to play out his eligibility and hopefully that will be in Odessa.” states coach Mike Beavis

Herron and the Runners received high props from the NAHL broadcasting crew on HockeyTV during the draft and are hoping that everyone will see that transpire into a great upcoming season for Herron as well as the RoadRunners.

Herron worked his way up through Texas youth hockey including the McKinney North Stars of the NAPHL,  before moving onto Juniors with the RoadRunners this past season.

The RoadRunners would like to wish all the best to Jack in his journey through the NAHL process and hopefully onto the NCAA of play.
