Runners Head to Atlanta

Oct 6, 2021

The Texas RoadRunners will hit the road for the first time this season as they make the thirteen hour trek across the South to Atlanta, GA.  where they will take on the Atlanta Capitals in a three game set.  The Runners who currently sit atop of the NA3HL south division are looking to retain their position in the standings this weekend.

Atlanta had a rough start during their first weekend but have added some much needed help over the past two weeks are ready and willing to challenge the Runners to prove that that they are prepared for this weekend.  “John is a proven coach and he will be ready for us for sure.  He has added some depth and we have told our guys that hey need to be prepared both mentally and physically for them come game time.  Anything short of that would be a mistake.”  stated Runners coach Mike Beavis.

The Roadrunners are coming off a quick two days of practice including today’s shortened skate due to the team hosting the parent club from Odessa at the ‘Spirit Ice Arena”.  The Jackalopes were traveling from Shreveport, LA.  to Corpus Christi where they will take on the IceRays on Sunday afternoon.  “Scott Deur called me Monday to see if he could grab a quick skate at the half way point for his team and of course we made it happen.  Scotty had three of our guys skate with his team and watched a bit of our skate to take a quick look at a couple guys.” added Beavis    The Jackalopes invited two tendered players,  forward Derek Boutin and goaltender Hunter Hein as well as rookie defenseman Ty Neckar to skate the practice with the parent club.  “The guys were very excited about the opportunity to join the Jacks for a skate and the rest of the team got to see what that next level really looked like.” states Runners assistant coach Caleb Fitzpatrick

The Runners will head out to Atlanta tomorrow morning and will play Friday and Saturday in Georgia at the Duluth Ice Forum at 7:30PM EST and again on Sunday at 12:00 Noon before returning back home Monday morning.  Be sure to catch all the action live all weekend on HockeyTV.com
