Runners Head to Atlanta

Nov 7, 2019

The RoadRunners boarded a bus at six this morning to Atlanta Georgia for the final three games of the season series between the two teams.  The team will travel throughout the day and should arrive in Atlanta around nine this evening.  In the first three games between the two division rivals the Capitals took two of the three games in Texas and the Runners are looking to even things up this weekend.

The teams will face off at 7PM both Friday and Saturday evening and puck drop will be 12:30 PM on Sunday.  Both teams are coming off big weekends as the Runners took 4 of 6 points in Louisiana two weeks ago and the Caps swept the same Louisiana team in Atlanta this past weekend taking all six points at home.

The Runners will have Captain Brenden Fehlig back in the line-up this weekend as he was out with a minor injury for the past two weeks.  “It will be huge to have Cap back as he was kept out for precautionary measures the past couple weeks and has been cleared to play as of this week.” states coach Ryan Scheide

The team will also have Tadeas Vicha and Garrett Wilderman back from a recent call up to skate with Al Rooney’s Corpus Christi IceRays.  Both players showed well with Corpus and we have been told that the IceRay’s  bench boss will be inviting both of them back in the near future to get a more detailed look.  “It’s always good when you get positive feedback on your guys and Al has expressed interest in both players and will also be looking to bring up a few others in the coming weeks.”  added head coach Mike Beavis.  Beavis went on to say that two of the players that will skate with the club in the near future would be Logan Bellar and Matt McBride.
