Runners Defenseman Brice French to play at Northland College NCAA D-lll

Jan 26, 2021

Brice French will continue his hockey at Northland College NCAA D-lll.  French, the rugged 20 year old defenseman from Fairbanks AK.  has recently committed to play for the Lumberjacks.

“Our staff has been tracking Brice for quite some time and could not be happier he will be joining us here at Northland College.  We feel Brice will compete for a job immediately on our blueline.” Stated Mike Lennon Assistant Coach, Northland College

French who came to the RoadRunners this season from the New Mexico Ice Wolves NAHL is very excited to join the Lumberjacks next season.  When speaking with French about his choice he shared that it was one of the top schools in the country for his major and he would also be able to continue his hockey career with an NCAA program that was interested in him as well.

French was no stranger to the RoadRunner family as he spent time with the Colorado Tigers NAPHL  AAA program that is headed by Odessa Jackalopes scout Kevin Holmstrom.

“Brice is a guy that we wanted on our team last season and had tendered him but he decided to follow another path.  This year was a bit different as he was dropped off the New Mexico NAHL roster and made the choice to join us knowing that he would still be close to New Mexico if needed as well as the relationship that we had created over the past year in talking about his future.  We are happy that Brice came to the Runners this season and we were able to help him in his advancement to the NCAA.  We wish him all the best in school as well as his future in hockey.”  States Runners Coach Mike Beavis
