Roadrunners Sweep Rougarou at home

Nov 10, 2025

The Texas Roadrunners continued their winning ways this past weekend as they completed a three game sweep of the Bayou State Rougarou at home in College Station, TX.

Friday Final:

Bayou 1 @ Texas R 5 – The Bayou State Rougarou would take a trip to Texas to take on the RoadRunners. The Texas RoadRunners have been running through the competition, but in the first period, both teams stayed silent, with neither team scoring. In the second period, the RoadRunners would get on track with a goal from Vincent Campbell, Michael Garrett, and William Heskett picking up the assist. Before the final period, William Heskett would get his own goal for the RoadRunners, being assisted by Joseph Izzo and Lucas Dyer. Not even a minute into the final period, Joseph Izzo would score for the RoadRunners, with Lucas Dyer and Ronin Draffan with the assist. The Rougarou would then get on the board with a goal from Landen Crall, Ethan Tierman with the assist. The RoadRunners would strike back with another goal, Michael Garrett scoring, Joseph Izzo and Vincent Campbell with the assist. With less than a minute left, Dyer scored another one in for the RoadRunners, Joseph Izzo and Jacob Brown picking up the assist. The RoadRunners handle business, beating Bayou State 5-1.

Saturday Final:

Bayou State 3 @ Texas R 5 – The Texas RoadRunners continue to be a force to be reckoned with as they climb higher in the standings. Yesterday afternoon, they hosted the Bayou State Rougarou, a team 1-15 in the standings, and narrowly defeated them 5-3 and recorded win number 20 of the season. The RoadRunners started things off in the first period, when Nathan Pickett opened the scoring from a primary playmaker by Cayson Ash-Hendricks. Moments later, however, Landen Crall answered for the Rougarou by tying it up. But minutes later, Joe Izzo responded and returned the lead again for the RoadRunners. However, the same dynamic continued again, as another Rougarou player scored empty-handed and tied it up. Ethan Tierman would be crowned with the goal, and his tie response would continue until early in the third. In the third, another player would score and break the tie unassisted, as Lucas Dyer for the RoadRunners  grabbed the go-ahead lead. Minutes into the frame, Michael Garrett extended the lead to two when Jayden Hitt assisted. At the five-minute mark, Hitt grabbed a goal for himself to make it 5-2. But shortly after, the Rougarou responded with their final goal of the game, as Tierman created a lane for Nathan Daniels to make it 5-3.

Sunday Final:

Bayou State 1 @ Texas R 11 – In another weekend rematch, the Texas Roadrunners extended their season record to 21 wins after blowing out the Bayou State Rougarou again on home ice. On Saturday, the Roadrunners narrowly defeated them 5-3 while picking up their 20th win. However, yesterday afternoon, the club made sure of not having a tight score like that, and capped off the weekend with a bang. No, the score of 11-1 is not a typo, so let’s run through how it went down. Late in the first period, the Rougarou opened the scoring, as Peyton Essex was set up by Lukas Kolka. And then after that, the Roadrunners silenced them by scoring 11 unanswered for the next 40 minutes of play. For the second, Texas heard the message loud and clear from veteran head coach Mike Beavis to score some points, and so they did. 30 seconds into the frame, Vincent Campbell tied it on the power play. Minutes later, he would do it again on another PP opportunity to break the tie. At 12:30, Joe Izzo took it from there and gave the Roadrunners a two-goal lead, as he was set up by Campbell. Then, about two minutes after that, they added another when Izzo fed to Lucas Dyer. And before the second buzzer sounded, the team decided that four unanswered simply wasn’t enough; they needed to add five. Kurtis Brachlow racked up his third point of the game and scored himself a goal on the PP to cap off the electric middle frame. If you thought five goals in a period were a lot, be ready for six in the third. Six minutes into the final frame, Logan Diskey chipped one for William Heskett to score shorthanded. Bounce back to another power play run, and the Roadrunners would score again, as Izzo got another from a setup by Heskett and Brachlow. Catch your breath, because ten seconds after that, they would score again before the Rougarou had a chance to blink, as Ronin Draffan would get it done after a faceoff win from Quinn Mayo. Fast forward five minutes, and Izzo fed to Dyer to score a shorty. Then at the two-minute mark, the Roadrunners ran through another PP opportunity and would capitalize on it again, as Nathan Pickett was set up by Draffan. And the final one scored would be on, you guessed it, another PP run. Alex McMillian scored the game-winning goal from a cycle by his linemates Dyer and Jacob Brown. After all of that, the final shots-on-goal tally was 65-36 in favor of Texas. In addition, the three stars of the game went to Izzo with two goals, Campbell also with two goals, and the third title was awarded to Dyer, who also had two goals.
