The Texas RoadRunners will host the El Paso Rhinos this weekend at Spirit Ice Arena in Bryan / College Station Texas. The teams will play a three game set beginning on Friday October 11th at 7:15 PM. This will be opening night at home for the Roadrunners. The two teams will also match-up on Saturday also at 7:15 PM. The third and final game of the weekend will be Sunday October 13th at 12:00 Noon
The Roadrunners are currently in fourth place with a 5-1 record and trail the 3rd place Louisiana Drillers by one point and the 2nd place by two points. In first place are the Texas Brahmas with a perfect 8-0 record. The Roadrunners will try and close that gap this week as both The Brahmas and Austin have off weekends. Currently the El Paso Rhinos are in 8th place in the south division with an 0-5 record. The Rhinos matched up against two tough opponents in the first five games and coach Beavis is all too familiar with the Rhinos to underestimate them. “They are always a tough team to play as their style is to never give in and they can be a very dangerous team if you look past them. In this series we still need to find our game and carry the play.” States Beavis
Over the past six games the Roadrunners had some slow starts but also showed what they are capable of this season. The Roadrunners and Rhinos will play six total games over the next two weekends witch also can lead to tension, frustrations and bitterness between any two teams. “We need to take each game one at a time and stay focused on discipline as well as our systems and realize that if we stay systematic we will be a tough team to beat. But staying focused isn’t always easy when you play a team six consecutive times. It’s like playoff hockey early in the season.” added Beavis
Friday nights game will also be #100 for Roadrunners forward JT. Brugaletta… Please “Show some Love”!
