Saturday Final:

Texas RoadRunners 4 @ Austin Ice Bats 1: The RoadRunners controlled play again as they outshot the Ice Bats 55-27 in a 4-1 win. Scoring for the Roadrunners was Porter Wolk, Ajay Johnson, and JT Brugaletta had two goals.

Although the Runners are off to a fast start they are not taking things for granted this season.  “We had to reel the guys back in a bit as their confidence level was skyrocketing but their compete level was not.  It’s tough to play teams that are struggling and keep your focus on working on being well rounded but this week in practice has been a much better effort from the guys.  Are we where we want to be yet ?  No, that will be a year long process for sure.  The Rookies are still trying to figure things out a bit and need a bit better role model mentality coming from our veteran players to learn from.  I think we will put forth a much better effort this weekend for sure.”  States Head Coach Mike Beavis.

The RoadRunners will take on Chris Francis and his Louisiana Drillers this weekend in the “Home Opener Weekend” at the Spirit Ice Arena in Bryan / College Station.  Games will be Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 and Sunday at Noon.  Be sure to stop by the ‘Spirit Ice Arena” to catch all the action live or tune into NAHLTV.com to catch the live broadcast.
