“The guys have been playing well for the most part in the early going but there are times we have to reel them in and get back to systematic hockey. Our schedule will have a very tough nine games coming up before the Thanksgiving Break as well as the weekend before the showcase as well as the Showcase schedule itself. This is where guys will really be tested and see what it will take to compete for a Championship in March. Our goaltending has been stellar and our offence has been on fire but the true test will be to keep things in perspective going forward.” Stated head Coach Mike Beavis.
On a side note:
Beavis is rapidly approaching a coaching milestone of 400 wins and is currently at 396 in his junior career. We will keep an eye on this very carefully over the next few weeks. Beavis began coaching juniors in 1993 with the Springfield Junior Indians of the former Northeastern Junior B league and has coached in over six junior leagues in North America. “I never really paid attention to stats over the years but my son brought it up a few years ago when I reached 300 and I guess I never thought about 400 as it seemed to far to reach. It would be nice to hit that mark as I do have a few old friends still in the game that have reached it over the past couple seasons. Let’s see what happens as long as i can help move these guys on the rest doesn’t matter.” Added Beavis
The Roadrunners will be back at work this week preparing to travel to Monroe Louisiana to take on the Bayou State Rougarou in a three game set Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week. The Rougarou are currently in 5th place with a 1-7-0-0 record.
