Aug 9, 2019

North Olmsted Eagles high school standout and captain Riley Vertosnik has recently signed to play for the RoadRunners for the 2019-2020 season.  Vertosnik, the Cleveland Ohio native put up 31 goals and 21 assists in 24 games last season and reached the 100 goal mark for his high school career.  Vertosnik also played for the Rock City Steel Kings both Pre and Post season last year as well.  The 5’11” 170 lb forward will be counted on to be very productive for coach Beavis and his team this season.

“Riley treats every game as the big game and always comes back to the bench with an empty tank.  He was captain of our team for a reason”  states North Olmsted Coach Ben Palocko

Vertosnik will be counted on this season as well both on and off the ice.  “I watched Riley quite a bit at the Odessa Jackalopes main camp and was very impressed with his work ethic and skill set.  I think he will be a big addition to the program and we have had some great conversations about the upcoming season. ” States RoadRunners coach Mike Beavis

Vertosnik isn’t the first player that has come out of Ohio for Beavis,  Tommy Kilway, Ben White and Joey Gallo, are three former players (Now all at Kent State) that also played for Beavis in the NA3HL

When asked about the upcoming season Riley had this to say; “I am looking forward to being a part of the Texas RoadRunners and helping the program become successful.  I am eager to get to the Bryan, College Station area and getting right to work on being a big part of the teams anticipated success in my rookie season in the NA3HL.”

The RoadRunners staff will be settled in Bryan, College Station over the next week and will begin the process of laying the groundwork for the upcoming season.  Players will report to the area later this month with training camp set to begin Tuesday September 3rd at the “Spirit Ice Arena”
