Reed Gets the Call to NAHL

Dec 3, 2019

Goaltender Jaeger Reed was called up to the Odessa Jackalopes this past weekend to back up for the team as they faced the Topeka Pilots.  Reed has established himself as a solid goaltender in the NA3HL this season and currently has a  0.906 SV% for the Runners.

Reed will remain with the Jacks for the time being and could possibly see action at the NAHL level in the future.  “Jaeger works hard day in and day out with us and the opportunity presented itself this past weekend and he made it work, giving up time with family and friends over Thanksgiving.”  states Runners Coach Mike Beavis.  Reed realized that this kind of an opportunity does not come along too often and he jumped at the chance to join the parent club in Odessa.

Runners assistant coach Ryan Scheide was also up in Odessa over the weekend helping out Todd Watson and his staff and even lent a hand in practice as a fill in goaltender while the Jacks awaited Reeds arrival.  “Jaeger looked good in practice and stayed pretty loose.  He has a great attitude and works hard everyday so we knew that he would be a help while in Odessa.”  stated Scheide.

The Runners will be without Reed this weekend when they visit Euless to take on the Mid-Cities Stars in a three game set.  “We will be okay this weekend with Cole Garver and Blake Forystek in net.  The most important thing is we are helping out Odessa and have also moved a guy up at this point.” added Beavis   The Runners organization as a whole is all about development and promotion for their players and are staying the course this season in a big way as a couple more players will be getting opportunities  over the next few weeks.

The Runners will play in Euless this coming weekend as they try and gain ground on the Stars before the NA3HL Blaine showcase December 15th – 17th.  The Runners currently trail the Stars by 5 points in the standings in a battle for the final playoff spot in the South division.   The two teams will play Friday at 7:30 PM CST, Saturday and Sunday at 5:30 PM CST.  All games will be at the “Children’s Health Star-Center” in Euless, TX.   Be sure to catch all the action live or tune into myhockeytv.com for all Texas RoadRunners games.
