William Payne Sweeny has joined the RoadRunners from Tahoe Prep 18U AAA. Sweeny from Lake Geneva, WI. Is an impressive 6’3″ 190 and is a pure “power Forward”. The 18 year old will bring a physical presence to the RoadRunners with a scoring touch. “I have spoken with Payne’s dad, Billy over the past two seasons working to get him into camp with the Jackalopes and lending him advice on his path through juniors an onto college. This year at the NAPHL Show Championships I watched Payne for the first time and instantly knew the RoadRunners wanted to be his next team. Payne is young with three years of juniors and I feel that we can get him to the NAHL within a season or so. I am excited to see how he will adjust to this level and how far we can get him over the season. He showed well at the Jackalopes main camp but needs to work a bit on quickness and speed. For a big body he moves well but will need to do more for the next step,” States Head coach Mike Beavis
Sweeny will join his new teammates this season and the staff is looking for him to help fill the void left by Noah Easterson (Oregon ACHA D1)
