Jul 23, 2019

Jason Owings has signed with the team for the 2019-2020 season.  Owings, the 5’8″195 lb  forward from Austin, Tx.  will be playing in his second season for the Texas team.  Last year the 2002 played in 16 games and is looking to have a great second season with the club.

“I was able to meet with Jason and his grand parents out in Las Vegas at a futures event in early July and liked what I saw.  Jason is an energy guy for sure and has a physical side to his play.” stated coach Mike Beavis.  The RoadRunners coach went on to say that conversations with both Owings and his grandparents were very good and everyone is excited for the new chapter in  the program.

Owings and the RoadRunners will take to the ice beginning September 3rd at the “Spirit Ice Arena” in College Station, TX for training camp in preparation for the start of the 2019-2020 season in the NA3HL

The RoadRunners coaching staff will head to Chicago this week and join the entire staff of the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL for “Main Camp” which will run from July 25th through the 28th.  Several RoadRunner players, tenders and drafts will compete at the camp in hopes of making the parent club during the four day event.
