High end forwards, Kyle Mackintosh and Lucas Dyer have joined the team this week in Bryan / College Station as training camp winds down for the Roadrunners.
Mackintosh, the 20 year old from San Ramon, CA, finished the season last year with the team adding 10 points in 9 games and became a huge part of their offense. This season Mackintosh made the training camp roster for Corpus Christi NAHL and was recently released but we are sure they will be keeping an eye on his progress early on knowing he is close by. “Kyle is a good player that is a NAHL bubble guy. With some exposure in the early going I think he will draw some interest from other NAHL teams looking for a guy that can put the puck in the net. He came back in good shape and ready to go so it’s our job to see what we can do for him to get him to that next level.” Stated Roadrunners Head Coach mike Beavis
Dyer, the 19 rookie from Houston, TX. Was a tender early on with the Roadrunners and made training camp with the parent club in Odessa NAHL. Speaking with Jackalopes Head Coach Scot Deur about Dyer he had this to say. “Lucas did well in Odessa and is very close. With some work and adjustments in the 3HL for a bit he may be ready for the jump. He could be the first guy we bring back up as we get into the season.”
Coach Beavis added, “Lucas is a very skilled player with a great shot and is very good with the puck. His adjustment will be on the detail and systematic side of the game . I think if he can get that mental part down he will be a guy that will play at that next level. His vision is good and he is a great kid that works hard with natural talent.”
Both Mackintosh and Dyer will be in the line-up when the team travels to Atlanta to face the Capitals as both teams open up the 2024-2025 season beginning September 20th at 7:00PM EST @ the Atlanta Ice Forum in Duluth, GA.
