Nick Lucas will be back on the Runners Blue-line once again this season. Lucas, the 19 year old forward out of Mesa, AZ. appeared in 40 games last season adding 2 goals and 10 assists with a +21 plus / minus rating. The 5’10” 190lb defenseman is a solid defensive player that loves to play a physical game. “Nick is just a tank. When he is on his game he brings a very physical presence to the ice. He can find the net as well and has a college level shot but needs to have a bit more confidence when using it this season.” States Runners Coach Mike Beavis.
Beavis went onto say that they will be counting on the veteran Lucas to help lead the team this season both on and off the ice. This will be Lucas’s third season in uniform for the RoadRunners and Coach Beavis is hoping that it will be his best.
Everything gets going next Monday with the start of the RoadRunners training camp. The team will then open up the 2022-2023 season with a three game homestand VS the Austin Ice Bats on Friday September 16th at 7:30PM The two teams will also battle on Saturday the 17th at 7:30 PM and on Sunday the 18th @ 2:15PM This all takes place at “Spirit Ice Arena” in Bryan / College Station.
