Jake Sherry from Palos Hills, IL and the JR Sun Devils 16U AAA program is one of this seasons newest players. Sherry, the 5’10 180lb forward will add depth to the runners line up this season. “We were looking to add Jake last season to our roster but were willing to wait a year for him to decide the time was right to make the jump to juniors.” states Coach Mike Beavis
Sherry amassed 45 points in 36 games last season in AAA and should be quite a nice addition to this seasons squad. Coach Beavis had the chance to meet Jake at the Jackalopes main camp a couple weeks ago and had this to say about the 17 year old. “The kid is just plain jacked. His off ice must be insane. He doesn’t look that way on the ice but when you are standing next to him off the ice you can see he spends a ton of time in the gym.” Beavis went onto say that he liked the way Sherry played over the camp and feels that his development will show after a year in the NA3HL.
Sherry is looking to make the jump in the future to the NAHL and then onto College hockey. But for now the 17 year old forward will focus on his skills and adapting to a more physical style of play in his first season in junior hockey.
