Matvey Ivanov has tendered with the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL for the 2023-2024 season.  Ivanov, the 2003 forward from San Ramon, CA. Came to the RoadRunners this season from the Tri-Valley Bulls of the NAPHL.  In 25 games so far with the Runners Ivanov has 20 goals and 18 assists for 38 points and is a plus 19.

“Ivy is a very skilled player that has been working very hard on his 200 foot game this season. He is an intricate part of our special teams systems both on the power play and penalty kill.  I had been speaking with members of the Odessa scouting staff that were in attendance of the NA3HL Showcase about Matvey and they made the decision along with the Jackalopes Head Coach to take him off the table as several NAHL teams were gaining interest and offering to affiliate him at the event.”  States Coach Mike Beavis

Ivanov has been touted as a very crafty player with great balance that can change a game.  He has a high hockey IQ and sees the ice very well.  Perfecting his 200 foot game will be one of the last pieces to his ongoing success and should carry him onto higher levels of play.

“We are very excited that Matvey has tendered with the Jackalopes for next season and are looking for big things to happen for him and his new club on the next step of his journey.  But in the meantime he and his teammates have a lot more work to do in the NA3HL in their quest for a long playoff run. ” Added Beavis
