Ivanov adds High Power Offense to RoadRunners

Aug 10, 2022

Matvey Ivanov, the 6′ 170 high flying 18 year old forward from San Ramon, CA.  Will fill the void left by former Runners Captain Jaron Ketterman.  Ivanov joins the Runners from the Tri-Valley Bulls organization and had an astounding 61 goals and 27 assists in 52 games last season as well as another 36 goals and 21 assists in only 7 games with his high school program.  “Matt is a very high skilled guy that tendered very early on and will bring a great deal to our team this season.  I focused a bit on him at Odessa Main camp where I learned that the head scouts for the parent club had been following him all last season.  Matt was very close to getting a legit shot in Odessa this year.  I would say depending on his performance with us we should see him make the jump to the NAHL in the future.” states Coach Mike Beavis

Beavis wet onto say that Ivanov has great vision as well as quickness and speed with some of the best hands he has seen in quite awhile.  Ivanov will be counted on this season to help the team potentially solidify a spot in the playoffs and hopefully show the NA3HL that the RoadRunners are a team that will be around for some time.

When asked about his goals this season Ivanov replied, “My main goals are to continue to develop into the best player that I can be and at the end of the season help our team capture the Fraser Cup.”

Matvey Ivanov is one of several new members of the RoadRunners this season and we will continue to introduce our team over the next two weeks.
