Houston Wild’s Mason Bertelsen Joins Runners

Aug 16, 2021

Defenseman Mason Bertelsen from the Houston Wild U18 program will suit up for the Roadrunners this season.  Bertelsen the 17 year old 5’11 170lb from Houston will fit into the Runners plans this season on the blueline.  Last season with Memorial West HS and the Houston Wild he compiled 13 goals and 14 assists in 37 games.

“I watched Mason quite a bit at the Odessa Jackalopes main camp a couple weeks ago and think he will fit in just fine this season” States Runners Coach Mike Beavis.  Beavis went onto say that it will be an adjustment for the young D-man but he feels that some hard work and patience will go a long way in his development.

Bertelsen is not the only player from the Wild to join the RoadRunners this season and over the next few weeks you will meet the remainder of this seasons squad.

Mason Bertelsen and his teammates will hit the ice on Monday September 6th for training cam that will lead up to the teams home opener on Friday September 17th when the Runners host the Mid Cities stars for a three game series at the “Spirit Ice Arena” in Bryan / College Station, TX.

Season Tickets and single game tickets will be on sale at the game,  For those that would like to purchase tickets in advance for single games or season tickets information will be available soon on our website under our tickets tab.
