Former RoadRunners Goaltender Ramos Commits To Trine Univ. NCAA Dlll

Aug 13, 2021

Christian Wong-Ramos who appeared in six games with the RoadRunners last season before being traded to the Sheridan Hawks has committed to play NCAA D lll Hockey for Trine University.

Wong-Ramos, was one of the top goaltenders in the 3HL last season and carried a  GAA of 2.74 with a  .927 SV%  “Christian was a great kid that was sent to us by New Mexico NAHL at mid season was solid for us but with looking at our playoff hopes shrinking in late January and the opportunity to move him along with defenseman Brice French (Northland College NCAA D lll) to the Sheridan Hawks we put together a deal that both players liked as it would give them a chance to make a playoff run in their last season.”  States coach Beavis

Wong-Ramos remained in contact with the RoadRunners staff and they continued to help Christian work on his college dreams.  “I tell every player that I work with that once a player always a player and I kept in contact with Christian and we discussed several opportunities.  Then a couple months back I received a call from Alex Todd about Christian.  I told him that he would be a huge addition both on the ice and academically to the program.” added Beavis

Coach Beavis heard the news yesterday and confirmed with Coach Todd and will hopefully be speaking with Wong-Ramos later this week to extend his congratulations to the former Runner.
