Derek Boutin Signs with Runners

Derek Boutin has signed to play for the RoadRunners for the 2020-2021 season.  Boutin, the 18 year old forward from Chicopee, MA. is a former player with the Springfield PICS organization.  Boutin will be joining a couple other Massachusetts natives in Texas this season both defenseman Colt Hoffey and Coach Mike Beavis are also former Massachusetts guys.

Boutin at 6’2″ 190 will be a big power forward up front for the Runners and will surely make his presence known around the front of the net this upcoming season.  Last season with his former team Boutin had 8 goals and 28 assists in 42 games and is looking at this season as a big year.  ” I am looking to have good season with the RoadRunners with some possible time up with Odessa this year.  By the end of the season I would love to have a few schools notice my ability and have some interest in me for the future.  I am blessed to sign with the RoadRunners as I know they will work to help me reach my goals, help with my development and provide me with a great opportunity to improve my skills.  I am very excited to say the least.”  states Boutin.

Boutin will join many of his new teammates in Chicago later this month for the Odessa Jackalopes “Main Camp” which will be held July 23rd – 28th in Bensenville, IL.  “It would be great to see a couple of our guys do well at Main Camp this season as we have turned to a more developmental program over the past season and are working hard to identify, develop and promote players from our team onto the NAHL.”  added Beavis
