Carson Spear To Captain Roadrunners

Aug 23, 2024

Carson Spear will be entering his second season with the Roadrunners, but this season the 19 year old from Dallas Tx.  will have a huge responsibility.  Spear will be coming back to Bryan / College Station and the Roadrunners as their Captain.  Spear appeared in 44 games last season scoring 19 goals and adding 24 assists for 43 points and carried a +28

Last season Spear was selected to the NA3HL Top Prospect Tournament that was held in St Louis, MO.  Spear added a goal and an assist in the two game event.

“Carson emerged last season as a leader in my mind.  He lead by example on and off the ice and wanted nothing more than to help his team have the opportunity to compete for a championship. At the end of the season Carson and I spoke quite regularly about how the season went and what he was looking to accomplish and we both agreed that he would come back as Captain.  We have spoken pretty much weekly over the off season and I feel that he will be the guy that players will follow.” States Roadrunners Coach mike Beavis.

Spear will be the only Captain named to start the season as Coach Beavis wants to take a long look at assistant captain prospects over the first few weeks of the season to make sure that all the pieces fit.  Beavis also hinted that there could be one or more rookies that may fill that role of becoming leaders for the Runners this season.

Spear will join his teammates on their quest for the NA3HL Fraser Cup beginning Monday September 2nd for the opening of training camp for 2024-2025 @ Spirit Ice Arena in Bryan / College Station.
