Boutin will play ACHA D-1 for Oswego and Head Coach Travis Hyde beginning this fall.  “On behalf of the Lakers ACHA program, we are very excited to welcome Derek into our family.  His time in Texas demonstrated his ability to compete and lead at a high level, which will contribute to his immediate impact on the ice and in our locker room. Stated Lakers Coach Travis Hyde.

“Derek was a great kid to have for the past three seasons and I am glad he is excited with his decision to attend Oswego State.  Coach Hyde is a former player and assistant coach with me and I know that it will be a great fit for everyone.  I will miss having a Western Ma. kid on my roster for sure!  The guys over the past three seasons have given him the nickname PC (Prince Charming from the movie Shrek) and it fits for sure.  We wish PC all the best in his education and furthering his hockey goals.” added RoadRunners Coach Mike Beavis.
