Bertelsen to Shore up Defensive Corps for Runners

Aug 27, 2022

Mason Bertelsen will return to the RoadRunners this season to shore up the defensive corps.  Bertelsen, the 18 year old from Houston, Tx.  appeared in 44 games last season with the team and chipped in 1g and 7a and a +19 rating.  “Mason is a very defensive player and sees and reacts to the play well.  He is not afraid to step up on attacking players and use his body effectively.” States Coach Beavis.  At 6′ 185 Bertelsen is a solid player that won’t back down and contains his opponents well in the defensive zone.

“Mason had a good year with us last season and I am looking for big things from him in his second year.  He should get the attention of a few college programs over the course of this coming season.” added Beavis

The Runners are very excited about this years team as the competition within the team should be intense in the upcoming training camp with several key spots still up for grabs.  “With the addition of some very talented new players I think our returning guys are going to be shocked and will have to step up their game for sure.  But, this is what we all wanted when we made the move to put together a very talented team to contend for this seasons “Fraser Cup.” added Beavis
