Beavis could reach coaching milestone this weekend

Oct 29, 2025

Roadrunners Head Coach and GM Mike Beavis could break the 400 win mark this weekend when the Roadrunners take on the Pelham Prowlers in a three game set at Spirit Ice Arena in College Station, Texas.  Beavis who sits at 399 career wins in junior hockey is looking to set the mark on Friday evening.  With a junior coaching career dating back to 1993 and eight junior leagues, Beavis reached the 300 win mark with the Roadrunners on March 1st 2022.

Beavis joins fellow NA3HL coaches,  Jeff Crouse (Alexandria Blizzard) Todd Sanden (Minn Moose) and former Granite city Coach and Brad Wilner (Wilner has over 600 career wins) Beavis has amassed 250 of the 400 wins within the NA3HL/ NA3EHL since 2014.

“I guess i never really paid too much attention to this and focused on my players and the business side of things more than personal accomplishments over the years. In reality it is actually a decent number but it does span over quite a long period.  It will be a nice feeling to reach the mark and join a select few friends of mine that have set it in the recent past.” Stated Beavis

Beavis went on to talk about why he still loves his job saying the best part is his relationships with players, parents and other coaches that he has had the pleasure of working with along the way.  When asked if he is now thinking about 500 Beavis laughed.  “As long as it comes before I retire but actually it’s the farthest thing on my mind at this point.”  Beavis also stated he feels that as long as he can keep helping players move on and stays healthy he will most likely continue coaching over the next few seasons.

The next win will be a big one for Coach Beavis and the Roadrunners so be sure to catch all the action live this weekend or tune into NAHLTV to cheer on the Roadrunners as they take on the Pelham Prowlers this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
