Home Opening Weekend 2023

Sep 29, 2023

The RoadRunners will open the 2023-2024 home schedule this weekend  hosting the Louisiana Drillers in a three game set that will take place Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at Noon at “Spirit Ice Arena” in Bryan / College Station.

The Runners are coming of a four game sweep of the Austin Ice Bats on the road and will face a 3-0 Drillers team coached by Chris Francis.  Francis the former pro player from Las Vegas has taken over the Drillers this season.  Many of you may recognize the name from the RoadRunners parent club the Odessa Jackalopes NAHL where he was the assistant coach last season.  Both Francis and Runners Coach Mike Beavis are looking forward to the somewhat friendly rivalry that will take place this weekend but when the puck drops it’s all business for both coaches. “Franny and I are friends and it will be great to coach against him.  I know he has already started the program off to a very good start.  Drillers owner Danny Smith and I are friends as well so there is a lot riding on these games for bragging rights early on between our programs. It’s going to be a fun weekend to say the least”  Stated Runners Coach Mike Beavis

The Runners will be introducing their entire team tonight before opening puck drop and have heard the rumor that Mascot Reggie the RoadRunner may be back from his latest adventure to fire up the crowd.

So if you are looking for the coolest place in town … Stop by Spirit Ice Arena tonight at 7:30 and catch all the heated action while you keep cool!   Tickets available at the door.    Don’t miss a minute of the action of the Texas RoadRunners or the NA3HL by tuning into NAHLTV.com if you can’t catch the games in person.
